| Anotace: Anotation: | Za druhé světové války se pro letce, kteří dokázali sestřelit pět a více nepřátelských letadel používal neoficiální, přesto velmi ceněný titul stíhací eso. Kult stíhacích es pěstovaly obě strany konfliktu. Stávala se oblíbeným soustem pro válečnou propagandu a jejich význam byl zcela mimořádný. U každé jednotky právě tito muži rozhodovali o úspěchu či neúspěchu bojových akcí. Tato poměrně malá skupina dosáhla většiny sestřelů, které jejich jednotka získala. Často se také stávali veliteli leteckých jednotek a mnoho z nich dosáhlo vysokých hodností. Osudy osmi mužů, popsané v této knize jsou rozdílné. Spojovalo je však jediné – bojovali na té “špatné straně”. Všichni se narodili v zemích, které se v letech 1939–1945 nějakým způsobem zapojily do války na straně Osy a oni tak museli bojovat proti leteckým silám Spojenců. Vedli si v nich velmi dobře, vlastně úplně nejlépe, protože se stali esy s nejvyšším počtem vítězství ve své zemi. Někteří na straně poražených zůstali až do samého konce, jiným se podařilo včas přejít do vítězného tábora. Jejich osudy jsou proto velmi barvité a vesměs málo známé. Osudy osmi mužů, popsané v této knize jsou rozdílné. Spojovalo je však jediné – bojovali na té “špatné straně”. Všichni se narodili v zemích, které se v letech 1939–1945 nějakým způsobem zapojily do války na straně Osy a oni tak museli bojovat proti leteckým silám Spojenců. Vedli si v nich velmi dobře, vlastně úplně nejlépe, protože se stali esy s nejvyšším počtem vítězství ve své zemi. | During World War II, the unofficial, yet highly prized title of fighter ace was used for pilots who were able to shoot down five or more enemy aircraft. The cult of fighter aces was cultivated by both sides of the conflict. They became a popular bite for war propaganda, and their significance was quite extraordinary. For each unit, it was these men who decided on the success or failure of combat operations. This relatively small group achieved most of the victories their unit won. They also often became commanders of air units, and many of them reached high ranks. The fates of the eight men described in this book are different. But they were united only by one - they fought on the "wrong side". They were all born in countries that somehow became involved in the war on the Axis side between 1939 and 1945, and they had to fight against the Allied air force. They did very well in them, in fact the best, because they became the aces with the highest number of victories in their country. Some remained on the losing side until the very end, others managed to move to the victorious camp in time. Their destinies are therefore very colorful and generally little known. The fates of the eight men described in this book are different. But they were united only by one - they fought on the "wrong side". They were all born in countries that somehow became involved in the war on the Axis side between 1939 and 1945, and they had to fight against the Allied air force.
