únorem a 14. březnem 1937, s prapory "Largo Caballero", "Avance nº 9", "Mario D. Ancona nº 13" a "Izquierda Republicana". Mezi předchozí byl rozdělen prapor „Granada-Loja nº 17“. Brigáda byla přidělena k 21. divizi. Po pokrytí sektorů Andújar a Hinojosa del Duque dostala brigáda svůj křest ohněm při dobytí Cerro Gordo. Poté operovala v Sierra de la Grana s malým úspěchem, protože bez dosažení svých cílů utrpěla stráty dvě stě vojáků. 4. | The 51st Mixed Brigade was formed as a result of the loss of Malaga in the cities of Rioja and Tabernas (Almería), between 12 February and 14 March 1937, with battalions "Largo Caballero", "Avance nº 9", "Mario D. Ancona nº 13" and "Izquierda Republicana" The "Granada-Loja nº 17" battalion was divided among the previous ones. The brigade was assigned to the 21st Division. After covering the Andújar and Hinojosa del Duque sectors, the brigade received its baptism by fire during the conquest of Cerro Gordo. She then operated in the Sierra de la Grana with little success, as she suffered the loss of two hundred soldiers without achieving her goals. On June 4, the unit continued at the front in Iznalloz, incorporated into the 22nd Division. On August 20, it undertook an ambitious operation on El Calar, which resulted in heavy losses, including two battalion commanders and four company commanders. The year 1937 ended without any other notable events. During 1938, the brigade operation log recorded only small skirmishes, air strikes, artillery battles and desertions in both directions, a trend that will continue until the end of the war and which was characteristic of an inactive battlefield. |
