5. Například během celé bitvy u Brunete ztratila 100. smíšená brigáda 206 poddůstojníků a důstojníků. Protiofenzíva frankistických jednotek sílila a 24. 25. července 1938 překročila 100. smíšená brigáda Ebro přes oblast Ginestar a rychle obsadila Miravet a Pinell de Bray. Převzala také kontrolu nad značným počtem výšin. Musela však čelit rychlé frankistické protiofenzívě a 30. července ztratil kóty 624, 648 a 644 v Sierra de Pandols. 17. ledna 1939 bránila Igualadu a 3. února Geronu. 6. The 100th Mixed Brigade was formed in Alcoy, Alicante, in June 1937. It was based on the 1st Mixed Brigade's battalion, commanded by Major Luis Rivas Amat, who took command of the brigade, and 3,000 recruits from the provinces of Jaén, Córdoba and Murcia. The unit was assigned to the 11th Division of the 5th Army Corps and remained so for the rest of the war. His first war action was during the Battle of Brunete. On July 5, 1937, he launched a night infiltration with two of his battalions, passing the city of Brunete on the right to advance to Sevilla la Nueva and Navalcarnero, while his other two battalions surrounded the city and managed to enter it the next day. Three days later, the main fighting moved south, on the road to Boadille. At that time, however, the Republican offensive turned into a bloody battle, and the losses began to be enormous. For example, during the entire Battle of Brunete, the 100th Mixed Brigade lost 206 NCOs and officers. The counter-offensive of Frankish troops intensified, and on July 24, the brigade had to evacuate from the already destroyed Brunete. The 100th Mixed Brigade proved to be a ruthless and effective unit in its baptism of fire, with a spirit that would lead it to take part in great battles for the rest of the fight. In August 1937, the brigade moved to Caspe, where it cooperated with the rest of the 11th Division in the dissolution of the Regional Defense Council of Aragon. At the end of the month, she took part in the offensive in Zaragoza: In another bold maneuver, a variant of the attack on Brunete, she infiltrated the lines of national forces and reached Fuentes de Ebro, where she encountered strong resistance. For the second time, surprise tactics yielded exceptional results in principle, but later this advantage was destroyed by errors of coordination and stubborn resistance of the enemy in isolated fortresses. On December 15, 1937, the 100th Mixed Brigade was one of the units that took part in the Teruel offensive, beginning at El Mansueto with the task of interrupting the railway and highway that connected Teruel with Zaragoza, but also occupying the heights near Concud to form a defensive line to ensure the siege of Teruel. On December 29, 1937, he had to resist a strong attack by infantry and tanks of the enemy, which tried to break the siege of the city. With numerous losses, she was liberated the next day by units of the 68th Division. On January 7, 1938, Teruel finally fell to the Republicans. On January 22, the 100th Mixed Brigade retired and headed for Madrid to rearm. However, due to the enemy's constant counterattacks, he had to return to the Teruel front on February 9, 1938. Ten days later, she was already fighting in the front line, in the area of Salvacañete. The counterattack was planned for February 22, but it was canceled because the same day Frankish forces recaptured the city of Teruel. After the fighting, the unit was greatly destroyed. In March 1938, after the launch of the Francoist offensive in Aragon, the 100th Mixed Brigade defended the front, which led from Calanda to the river Ebro. The brigade tried to retreat to Alcañiz, but fell before the unit arrived. He had to retreat to Valdealgorfy and try to create a defensive line there that they would be able to maintain for several days. In Valdealgorf, the 100th Mixed Brigade managed to repel several attacks on the front line that led from the Canaleta and La Venta de Camposines rivers, but had to retreat again from enemy superiority. After the battles of Aragon, the brigade was back in reserve, located on the bridgehead of Balaguer. On July 25, 1938, the 100th Mixed Brigade crossed the Ebro across the Ginestar area and quickly occupied Miravet and Pinell de Bray. It also took control of a considerable number of heights. However, he had to face a rapid Frankish counter-offensive, and on July 30, he lost elevations 624, 648 and 644 in the Sierra de Pandols. In these trenches, the 100th Mixed Brigade was about to write the most famous pages in its history. From August 10 to 14, she suffered from overwhelming artillery fire and continued infantry attacks by the enemy. Her losses were enormous: Brigadier Aguado and her commissioner Ramirez were wounded, and the head of the 1st Battalion, Basilio Mañero, was killed. The 100th Mixed Brigade was sent to the rear to continue the reorganization. For this performance, her 11th Division was awarded the Placa Laureada de Madrid Medal. On August 27, she returned to her previous positions, and after going to the aid of the 27th Division in Corbera in the first days of September, she lost the Ermita de Santa Madrona, a key position in the Sierra de Pandols, on September 5, 1938. She was so devastated that she had to be removed from the front again, but she returned to the Sierra de Pandols, where she occupied the position at Puig Caballé on October 30, 1938. To recover from the enormous hardship she had suffered at Ebro, the brigade was stationed at Borjas Blancas, where the national forces' offensive on Catalonia began. On December 25, she set out for the Aspe-Alcanó area to try to stop the enemy's advance, which she failed to lose and lost Cogull. On January 17, 1939, she defended Igualada and on February 3, Gerona. On February 6, she had to leave Sarriá de Ter and form a line on the Muga River. Eventually, the 100th Mixed Brigade crossed the border through Port-Bou at sunset on February 9. The new brigade commander, Major Alabau, and her commissioner, Hipólito del Olmo, committed suicide during the retreat. 100. BM was characterized by strict discipline and rigor against any deviation from communist ideology. The number of executions in their ranks, always for trying to cross the enemy, were scandalously high.
